Evaluation of Paraoxonase-1 (PON-1) in Relation with Rheumatoid Arthritis Patients

Abstract

The current investigation involved 60 Rheumatoid arthritis patients who were randomly recruited from (Al-Sadder Teaching Hospital in Al-Najaf Province, Iraq) and a group of 20 supposedly control groups. The research was conducted from November 2020 to April 2021. The patients and control groups were between the ages of 40 and 70. 

Biomarker PON-1 of Rheumatoid arthritis patients decreased significantly (p≤0.05) in comparison to the controlled group. Biomarker PON-1 of Rheumatoid arthritis patients at various ages displayed a considerable decrease (p≤0.05) in comparison to the controlled group. PON-1 of  Rheumatoid arthritis patients in both males and females displays  considerable decrease (p≤0.05) in comparison to the controlled group.  PON-1  of Rheumatoid arthritis patients in BMI decreased significantly (p≤0.05) in comparison to the controlled group.
