The Effects of Exposoure to Heat Stress by Local Male Rabbits on Behavior and Some Perfomanc Features

Abstract

The present research was aimed to study some hormonal and physiological parameters (behavior ) results from exposure of local male rabbits to heat stress were a twenty local male growing rabbits were used, which randomly divided into (two group) 10 for each , one of them kept under heat stress about 28.5-31 °C, while , the second one kept under normal climates condition ,the experiment was lasted for about two months the glucagon and thyroid hormones were estimated at last period of study ,glucagon hormone, recorded a significant (P<0.05), high values in heat stress group compare to normal condition group in contras of thyroid hormone, while ,there were significant (P<0.05) high ranges in rest period, mortality rate, consumption rate, rectal temperature, and respiratory rate in heat stress group in comparative to group in normal climates condition meanwhile there were opposite effects in litter size and feed intake rate ,so it might be conclusion from these results that heat stress caused an obvious significant deleterious effects on different physiological parameter and behavior including the hormonal effects due to hypothalamus and hormonal modulation to avoid the bad effects of oxidative stress results from hyperthermia.
