Evaluation of the validity and reliability of the Persian version of the Quick Speech in Noise Test (QSIN) in Baluch-Farsi bilinguals aged 18 to 25 years and the effect of bilingualism on the phenomenon of speech perception in noise.

Abstract
Objective: This study was conducted to investigate the validity and reliability of the Persian version of the test (QSIN) in Baluch-Persian bilinguals, and to investigate the effect of bilingualism on the phenomenon of speech perception in noise on people aged 18 to 25 years.
Participants: In this study, all participants had normal hearing thresholds in the frequency range of 250 to 8000 Hz (thresholds less than 25 dB) (using Interacoustics AC33 audiometry) and normal middle ear (using audiometry invention). They also did not have a speech perception complaint in noise. It was measured using the SSQ questionnaire and had a score higher than nine. Proficiency in the Persian language was determined by using a bilingual questionnaire and those people included in the study who had a score of five. In the study, participants also did not have experiences of head trauma in the past 10 years.
Method: Three lists of the Persian version of the test (QSIN) were performed in a calm and quiet environment on 50 Baluch-Farsi bilingual individuals and 50 Farsi-speaking monolingual individuals with normal hearing. In this study, ASUS X44H laptop and Sound forge 20 software with philips3100 headphones at comfort level (as Questioned mentally) was also used. This test was repeated on 20 individuals of the initial stage bilingual to evaluate the reliability 3 to 4 weeks later.
Results: Lists 1 and 3 are equals in bilingual individuals as lists 2 and 3. All 3 lists have good reliability. There was no significant difference between the two monolingual and bilingual groups and between girls and boys in all 3 QSIN test lists (P> 0.05).
Conclusion: Lists 1 and 3 of the QSIN test and lists 2 and 3 can be used in bilingual individuals, based on this study. Understanding speech in noise, gender, and bilingualism does not affect the ability. In this field, the results of review studies are very diverse and many variables should be considered.
