Abstract

Medicinal plants are a reservoir of biologicallyactive compounds with therapeutic properties thatover time have been discovered and used by diversegroups of people for treatment of various ailments. Phytochemical and biological activities of stem, leaf, flower, root and latex of different solvent extracts of Calotropis gigantea was studied in vitro. Various secondary metabolites were present in stem, leaf, flower, root and latex of different solvent extracts of Calotropis gigantea. Methanolic extract Calotropis gigantea showed the maximum level of phytoconstiuents. GC – MS analysis of methanol extract revealed the various compounds might be exhibits various biological activities.
