Abstract

Latex was collected from three plant sources named Plumeria alba L, Taberaemontana divaricata R. Br. ex Roem & Schult, Wrighita tinctoria R. Br., Mem. Wern. Soc. After harvest, plant latex bioactive substances could be a source of protection against infections. Three plant species of latex were studied for their phytochemical characteristics. Phytochemical assays revealed the presence of alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, phenols, saponins, steroids, tannins, and terpenoids present in the latex extract.
