Abstract

The article presents the results of studies on the possibility of using an acoustic device PAM-1 when
determining the average diameter of a woollen fibre. To optimize the parameters of the measuring chamber, the
effect of dimensions of height and diameter of the chamber on the results of measurements of the woollen fibre
tonic was determined. To study the dependence of the output signal of the PAM-1 device on the diameter of
wool, experimental studies were carried out on 11 samples of wool fibres of various diameters. The obtained
results will be used to refine the metrological parameters of the acoustic instrument when measuring the tone of
woollen fibres.
