Innovative methods of treating ALS

Abstract

This article summarizes the current concept of the origin of amyotrophic ALS sclerosis, what factors predispose patients to develop the disorder, and analyzes the reasons why not all cases of ALS are the same.

In the 150 years since Charcot first described ALS, a number of indisputable and contradictory factors have been identified that describe the clinical history of the disease. The work is based on available information about ALS, as well as experimental treatment methodologies, including the use of placebo "antiglutamate agent riluzole", aimed at increasing life expectancy, improving therapy methods, conducting clinical trials, as well as implementing preventive measures to exclude activation of triggers of neurodegenerative disorder.
