Investigation of the effect of Anxiolytic Potential of cajanus Cajan,Caesalpinia Pulcherrima and Tamarindus Indica in Mice

Abstract

Anxiety is a natural human state wherein everybody experiences in their lives. Anxiety is the foremost common psychological state problem within the world and it increases rapidly.The purpose of thestudy was to compare the anxiolytic activity of traditionally used herbal plants- Cajanus cajan(Leaves), Caesalpinia pulcherima (Leaves), and Tamarindus indica (Flowers).The consequence action of various extracts n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and methanol of all 3 plants was assessed by using an elevated plus maze and Actophotometer models.In our studySwiss albino mice was used and extracts were administered by oral route. In collation to selected 3 plants, results to be perceived that the Tamarindus indicamethanolic flower extract indicates the significant effect at 200 & 400 mg/kg on Elevated plus maze and Actophotometer models, however comparable tostandard drug diazepam, dose Two mg/kg.The results were displayed to be deplete in a dose-dependent manner respectively contrast to control.The polyphenols are build in the extract from methanol, could be liable for the tranquilizer potential of T.indica. Hence this plant could also utilize as a useful anti-anxiety agent.
