Abstract

Copper sulfide and copper-iron sulfide nanoparticles were prepared from bis(N-(pyrrol-2-ylmethyl)-N-butyldithiocarbamato-S, S′) copper(II) (1) and bis(N-methylferrocenyl-N-(2-phenylethyl) dithiocarbamato-S, S′)-copper(II) (2), respectively. Photocatalyticactivities of as-prepared nanoparticles were studied by decolourization of methylene blue and rhodamine-B under ultraviolet light. It was found that the copper-iron sulfide degrades methylene blue and rhodamine-B much better than copper sulfide
